What?
The 15th Annual Sporting Chance Golf Tournament is an annual non-profit fund raising event
benefiting the DFW Labrador Retriever Rescue and DFW Metro Golden Retriever Rescue organizations.
While this tournament is not the only fund raising opportunity for these groups, this is our most
publicized effort and has, historically, been a very successful public relations tool. Not to
mention the fun we all have on the course! By participating in the 14th Annual Sporting Chance
Golf Tournament, you are helping the DFW Lab Rescue and DFW Metro Golden Retriever Rescue
organizations in their efforts to save the lives of dogs that deserve a "Sporting Chance".
Both groups are all-volunteer organizations having non-profit, 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. A
portion of your sponsorship and donation may be tax deductible. Please consult with your accountant
or advisor for further information.
Why?
The Sporting Chance Golf Tournament, now in its 15th year, is the only golf tournament
in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that is dedicated to saving homeless and discarded
Labradors and Golden Retrievers, two of the most popular dog breeds in the United
States. Supporting this tournament is a great way to send a positive message to both
existing and prospective clients while helping save the lives of deserving Labradors
and Golden Retrievers.
Who?
DFW Labrador Retriever Rescue and DFW Metro Golden Retriever Rescue are separately
incorporated organizations that rescue homeless Labradors and Golden Retrievers
from city animal control facilities and shelters in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
We rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of Labradors and Golden Retrievers that deserve
a sporting chance at a happy life. Rescued animals are spayed or neutered,
vaccinated and tested for heartworm, and treated if necessary, before they are
placed. In addition to our rescue efforts, both groups put considerable effort
into educating the public on responsible dog ownership by participating in pet fairs and other public events.
